first_imgGundy talked about Bullet’s struggles last weekend and said “He was probably just as frustrated as I was at how long it took us to score.”— Andrew Carter (@Andrew__Carter) September 14, 20154. The defensive line is elite (Boone)There was some concern that the defensive line might be hindered by the lack of experience at the defensive tackle position. But through two games, it appears the current rotation is going to be just fine. Vincent Taylor, Eric Davis, Mote Maile, and Darrion Daniels have all stepped up to the plate. They look good.5. Jeff Carr is going to be fun sooner rather than later (Boone)Carr didn’t do anything that would suggest he’s going to compete for the Heisman anytime soon, but in the clean up action he saw on Saturday he really impressed me. Towards the end of the game, he ran into a hole that closed up and, instead of powering through, just backed up and took it reverse field for a first down. Although his stature is slight compared to other Big 12 bell cows, his instincts as a runner combined with his elite speed will be hard to keep off the field much longer. If you’re looking for the comments section, it has moved to our forum, The Chamber. As I said on Saturday after the game, it’s tough to really learn a ton about a team playing a FCS game, but we still had a few takeaways from the OSU-Central Arkansas game.1. Chris Carson is not just a power runner (Porter)I mean … it’s our Braxton Miller spin move moment so far this season. I just keep watching and watching it, waiting for it to get old (it hasn’t). Here’s a field level look I haven’t posted yet. It’s probably more accurate (ack-u-rut) than the other videos.2. Kevin Peterson is going to be fine (Porter)Avoiding injuries is one of the keys to OSU’s nonconference schedule (especially with how easy it is) so it was good to see No. 1 back out on the field on Saturday. He didn’t do anything spectacular, but he did have five tackles and just the fact that he played is enough for me to be encouraged by an already-encouraging defense.3. Even Bullet has some rust (Porter)I somehow missed this on Saturday but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#okstate OSU’s Bullet spirit horse just pitched his rider at midfield. Bullet had stage fright, apparently.— Bill Haisten ?? (@billhaisten) September 12, 2015last_img
