The first 500 volunteers to register will receive a free Community Pride Day T-shirt, and all volunteers will receive breakfast and lunch. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, shovels, rakes, and/or trimmers and be ready for digging up weeds, planting, painting, sweeping, and picking up trash. Community Pride Day volunteers should meet at 8 a.m. April 14 at Smith Park, 6016 Rosemead Blvd., for breakfast, registration and check-in. Buses will transport volunteers to several sites throughout the city. Volunteers will return to Smith Park at noon for lunch and entertainment.
