first_imgThe New Generation Award (NEGA) and Liberia Music Award Foundation (LMA) nominee Skylett White is to launch on March 20 at the Liberian Dujar High School a fan base in Liberia. The singer said the show is a back to-school project that is aimed at welcoming students to school through entertainments, as well as to create an avenue in which they can forget the trauma that the Ebola situation in Liberia may have caused them one way or another. “This is my way of identifying with young Liberians, especially following the Ebola crisis, and to help them create a comeback attitude during the country’s Ebola period,” she said, adding, There are thousands of talented and young Liberian artists who need support and it is important that organizations and individuals make this a priority.  “I believe that having a back-to-school show will help bring each and every student together about the humanitarian process taking place in the country. At the end of the show, winners will receive cash prizes and free books will be distributed to each student for their participation,” she said via FaceBook.Eight to ten different Schools within the Gardnersville community are expected to promote the show.  The talented Afro pop and rapper added that as youth, art is something we relate to and Liberia is becoming a fertile soil when it comes to music.The show will be hosted with the help of O’Neal Robert, affectionately known as Young Crack.“I would really love to be there but due to tight schedules, it wouldn’t be possible,” she said.Young Crack said plans are in the offing to have a health practitioner speak to the students in maintaining Ebola health measures, in order to continue the effort in stamping Ebola out of Liberia.“All necessary preventive health measures will be put in place for the show and hand sanitizer will be divided among students,” he said, adding, The show will be divided into two phases: the first will be a battle on march 20, which will see some Liberian artist perform, and the second will be held among schools.”Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
